Gorge Waterfalls 100k
The Gorge Waterfalls 100k was this weekend. The scenic race, held just outside of Portland, Oregon, was a Western States qualifier this year. As such, a cast of all-stars showed up. The top two men and top two women snagged spots to the big dance:

The Umstead 100 was also held over the weekend. This race is a classic that goes back over two decades. Mike Daigeaun took the win for the fellas (14:35:39) and Jennifer Edwards was first for the ladies (17:24:17).
There is a new website that allows you to find athletes that are currently “in trouble” due to doping violations. You can check out the website here.
Over the weekend, I watched a pretty cool movie called Desert Runners. I’m always looking for good running movies, and this one didn’t let me down. Keep checking back here, because I plan on having a giveaway of Desert Runners in the near future.
Kilian Jornet has updated his race schedule for 2015. He will be back at Hardrock in July – no surprise there – but the week before Hardrock he’ll be up in Seward, Alaska for Mount Marathon – very cool! Last year, the top three men were locals. It should be fun!
Only a few more weeks until I get to hit the roads for the first time this year. It’s been ages since I’ve raced – I’m hoping the pre-race nerves aren’t too bad!
My training is still going well. This is a relatively easy week. Starting a week from today, I plan on upping the volume and intensity. It’s finally warming up a teeny, tiny bit so there is a glimmer of hope that I’ll be able to hit the trails sometime soon.
(Full disclosure: It was snowing this morning – sadly, it’s still warmer than it’s been.)
Have you been watching the NCAA Tournament?
Have you been able to run any trails this year?
Have you made any good running purchases lately?
