Scarpa Tru Review

This is the first pair of Scarpas that I have tried. Scarpa is an Italian company that goes back about seventy-five years.

The Scarpa Tru is stylish and very comfortable. It actually feels quite similar to the Inov-8 Roclite 282 GTX that I currently use for races.

I tried out a size 43.5, which is roughly equivalent to a 10.3 in the U.S. With that being said, I think the length and width of this shoe are average.

The size 43.5 weighed in at 9.6 ounces on my scale. This shoe has a 6mm drop – perfect for racing, in my opinion.

The Scarpa Tru has a great sole with excellent traction. I think this would be great on just about any terrain.

This shoe is more environmentally friendly than the average shoe. It includes lots of recycled materials and it is made with an additive to promote degradation in landfills.

This shoe is available at Zappos for $109.

Pros:

– comfortable
– perfect weight/drop for racing
– very breathable
– somewhat planet friendly

Cons:

– probably inadequate for very technical trails
– cost – a little on the expensive side for a pretty basic shoe
