Today’s post is about food! Aside from running itself, I think diet is one of the easiest ways to get faster. There are lots of competing ideas out there about what is best – and while I’m not qualified to give an opinion on that, I think one consensus is that vegetables are important! A quick and easy meal for me is veggies and wild rice. I prefer veggies from Syracuse Real Food Co-Op (http://www.syracuserealfood.coop/) or Stones Throw Farm (http://stonesthrowfarm.biz/home/), but I’ll also get them at Wegmans, particularly during winter.
I usually try and get an assortment of veggies, as well as some mushrooms – and lots of garlic (as seen above). I heat them up in a little olive oil and eat them with wild rice. Occasionally, I’ll add a little soy sauce, but not always.
The best part is that it’s a pretty light meal, so I can have a cookie from Zimmer’s Bakes afterwards (https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=633108096750816).
